John spun this gorgeous yarn for me -it's some natural Lincoln wool from our friend Martha Williams. John spun and navajo-plied it, so it is naturally self-striping. He spins SO FINE! Even though it is 3-ply, I am STILL having to knit it with SIZE ZERO NEEDLES!!!!!!!!! I have never used below size 1 before. I think I am going to have to take up lace knitting, to best use the yarn he spins for me.....

OMG!!! That is beautiful!!!! John did a fantastic job -- I'm totally in awe.
I use ones all the time for socks but I tried lace on 0000 years ago using cotton thread. I would drink way too much now to try!!!!!!
I'm jealous! I love to knit lace :P
Clink, I used ones and twos for socks usually too - actually the zeroes aren't to bad now that I'm donig it...the thought just terrified me!!! 0000 though? SERIOUSLY?? I think that would drive me to drink!!
Hanna....I'm gonna have to dive into lace knitting I think. do you have a suggestion for a small easy project for me to start on? maybe a lacy scarf or something??
haha, yeah, its probably best to start on something rectangular... i don't think i have anything specific to suggest since i jumped in with a center-out diamond shaped shawl :P
um, yeah. I won't be attempting the center-out diamond shawl for my first project...nuh uh!! I am all about the mindless knitting. charts? patterns? fuggetabbboutit....
