My friend Jill and I had a psycho amount of fun the other day, doing some natural dyeing and spinning and drinking and talking. Cool friends are the BEST. Anyway, these are a few of the hanks we dyed up for her. It is a lace or fingering weight (not sure which, it looks tiny to me!) blend of hemp and cotton, and we dyed the lighter 2 skeins in iris, and the darker 3 in madder root. The different colors were achieved by removing the skeins from the dyepot at different times. She'll be crocheting these into her super-cool market bags; look for them later this year, and don't hesitate to email her if you want to reserve one made from these naturally dyed skeins!
