The story of this yarn: In my shop, we sell some roving from my friend Abi at High Prairie Fibers. She makes up these really cool packs of fiber - 8 or 16 1 oz balls of roving in asstored colors: pastels, neons, rainbow colors and such. We have several of these lovely items on display at our shop.
Our shop is a little 30 by 30 building out in the middle of the country, outside of my mom's house. We are pretty casual, and let our dogs come and go into our workspace with us. The neighbors have a dog too - Abbie, a great pyrenees mix, and she comes to visit us when she's bored. Which is cool, we like dogs, and she is sweet! But one summer day...she discovered the wool. and fell in LOVE! My mom was alone that day, and looked up just in time to see Abbie hightailing it out the door, with 8 oz. of pastel roving in her mouth. Abbie ran the quarter mile home, delighted with her new treasure, while my mom ran after her yelling "Abbie! Drop it! bad dog!". After quite some time, she managed to wrangle it from Abbie's mouth, at which time it had a light coating of weeds, dirt and dog drool. Needless to say, it was no longer fit for sale, and my mom gave it to me. :)
Fortunately for me, I know how to wash wool and pick out a few bits of stray VM. no biggie. So i washed the doggie drool and mud off, picked out the VM, and happily spun it up.
Pretty, huh?
It's for sale in my etsy shop now. And now you know the full story. hee hee!
