Chickens!
I have been wanting to keep chickens forEVER! But hadn't, as I don't have a suitable chicken coop. However... My partner in crime, Becky, said she would get chicks too and we would help each other build coops. We are women who know what we want...and make it happen :)
So off we trooped to the local farm store and proudly purchased "rainbow layers", chick starter food, waterers and feeders, and heat lamps.
Becky got six chicks...and two ducks. I got 12 chicks, 4-5 which will live at my small urban yard, and the rest of which will live at Prairieland Herbs.

So. Stinkin'. Adorable. :)
I went out looking for my chickens earlier, as they're getting into the habit of wandering into the pasture next door, and I think they're probably not as safe over there.. so I'm checking on them. I couldn't find them anywhere, and started to frantically search through the scrubby brush and trees along the fence line... only to look back in the yard and see them all standing there, looking at me like "Hey, crazy lady, whatcha lookin' for?" :)
I want chickens! Someday. I can't wait to see the chickens at PLH :)
